Florida Medical Cannabis Legislative Update
Ron Watson, President, Watson Strategies and Northwest Area Sales Representative, MÜV by Verano
Florida’s medical cannabis program continues to evolve as lawmakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders debate the future of patient access, physician oversight, product regulation, and market structure. This presentation will provide a comprehensive update on the most recent actions taken by the Florida Legislature and state agencies affecting the medical cannabis program.
Attendees will gain insight into key legislation introduced and considered during the current legislative session, including proposals related to physician certification requirements, patient eligibility, product forms, dosing standards, vertical integration, and regulatory oversight by the Florida Department of Health and the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). The presentation will also discuss how recent policy debates—including the outcome and implications of adult-use legalization efforts—may influence the direction of Florida’s medical program.
Designed specifically for physicians and healthcare professionals, this session will translate legislative developments into practical implications for clinical practice, compliance, and patient care. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the policy landscape and what changes may be on the horizon for Florida’s medical cannabis system.
