As a Cannabis Attorney, I have had the honor of representing Veterans Initiative 22 as their Lead Attorney/ In House Counsel in the DEA rescheduling hearing. The main test utilized for the decision is CAMU, the Currently Accepted Medical Use. Let's discuss how from a Legal Perspective we prepared to present a successful presentation on the two part CAMU test in order to advocate for the rescheduling of Cannabis.

She is the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Sub-Committee of the ASTM D37 Committee. Honeysuckle Magazine recognizes her as one of the Top 28 Black Shapers of Drug Policy, Cannabis, and Psychedelics. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association. The Daily Business Review has named her one of the Top 12 Cannabis Attorney’s in Florida. In 2022, she was named one of High Times 100, an annual recognition of the industry’s top leaders and influencers. Her practice covers both the Marijuana and Hemp Industries, specializing in Cannabinoid legalization and UK Novel Foods registration. She is a Florida licensed Hemp Farmer and is a Research Farmer for the University of Florida. Scheril serves on the Board of one of the oldest Cannabis Advocacy Organizations, Patients Out of Time. She is the Former Executive Director of the African American Farmers Association.
Shanetha Marable-Lewis is the Executive Director of Veterans Initiative 22, a non-profit organization whose mission is veteran suicide prevention with a focus on affordable access to medical cannabis for the veteran community. Shanetha is a decorated Army combat veteran who proudly served in both OEF and OIF, earning several awards for her exemplary service. She went onto attend WVU, where she earned her a BA in International Studies graduating Magna Cum Laude. Shanetha began her career in cannabis as a patient consultant at a medical cannabis dispensary while stationed at JBLM in Tacoma, Washington. The time she spent working solely with medical cannabis patients catapulted her growing interest in cannabinoid therapeutics, science, neuropsychology, and pharmacology, which led her to the UMD School of Pharmacy when in 2022 she earned a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics. During her time at UMD she served as the VP of Marketing for the Medical Cannabis Student Association and is active with the Alumni Association (unofficial). Shanetha has a personal passion for assisting Veterans suffering from PTSD, as well as helping patients struggling with the disease of addiction. She is an advocate for Veteran suicide prevention, and safe access for ALL cannabis consumers.
