Since August 2020, the number of active Medical Cannabis Patients in the state of Florida continue to grow. As Medical Cannabis use is becoming more and more prevalent in the Sunshine state, are you concerned that not all Medical Cannabis products are created equal? There is a plethora of Cannabis-based products with varied potency, are there potential dosing issues with Medical Cannabis? Are current clinical and safety measures sufficient to prevent public health issues? In this session we’ll discuss Medical Cannabis dosing, adherence/reconciliation, adverse health effects, and other associated public health issues. Join me to learn more and pick up free resources for your team and patients.

Jemima D. Desir Dougé, MD, MBA serves as the Healthcare Education Specialist at the Florida Poison Control Center-Tampa covering Central and southwest Florida. Dr. Dougé ‘s work is to inform, develop, and evaluate strategies to reduce poisoning incidents as well as promoting effective post exposure management.   Dr. Dougé is dedicated to reducing poisonings in the population served. In that regard, she has initiated several poison prevention projects targeting emerging drugs of abuse, overdose prevention, vaping, medication safety, as well as seasonal poisoning risks for people of all ages. Dr. Dougé currently teaches Clinical Toxicology to practicing healthcare professionals and serves as the preceptor for BSN, MPH and PHD students at 2 universities.    She continuously fosters collaborative partnerships with other organizations and is an active member of several committees at the State, Regional and National level. She is the Chair of the Research committee of the Educator Advisory Counsil of Americas’ Poison Centers. She is fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole.  Jemima is an avid reader and loves spending time with her family. She is passionate about nature and enjoys interior decorating.
